Speed and quality are critical to launching a new product fastest against competition or delivering "go live" after changes/integrations with minimal disruption to operations. Our R&D team is constantly updating Spira with at least 10 releases a year based on customer feedback. In this article, our APAC Regional Director - Camille Baumann shares her top ten tips for using the platform.
Top Ten Tips for Using Spira
We share the updates in both the user manual and roadmap but some tweaks are too small to mention via The Edge yet have significant impact to our users. Here are 10 tips to check if you know:
- Spira has a built-in Keyboard Shortcuts menu to help you drive speed? i.e. log a defect simply using "n i n"
- Did you know there are hundreds of templates to help you reuse from 18 years of accumulated knowledge from users? E.g. Use a template tailored for your industry with predefined workflows to jump start usage of Spira or and even migrate data with ease.
- Did you know you can now reuse entire or partial product artifacts and data sets (from 8.2 release onwards). You can set up a library of tests mandated for all products with ability to customise a set on top by using an artifact.
- You can automate manual testing by plugging in any Test Automation tool from Selenium to even our own Rapise which houses templates of tests for most commonly used ERP systems.
- SpiraApps - allows you to plug-in ChatGPT to bundle requirements with prompts of a test case coverage.
- SpiraApps - allows you to add Test and Tasks Presets . for example, one click for 8 preset development tasks against a requirement, or generate a handful of approval tasks for another requirement.
- Drive down bugs faster by allocating incident tasks to resources who have capacity.
- Communicate effectively with real-time collaboration (in system chat, email, RSS, custom action based dashboard, kanban, mind maps, lists and folder structures as well as attach any file format), so there is no need for meetings after meetings to debate planning, requirements. tasks allocation or test pass or failures.
- You can customize out of the box reports - simply go to our Knowledge Base and cut and paste scripts or edit your own by going to Admin/Reports/Edit
- Bulk add/edit users, followers, associations with one click saving you time.
