Tags (aka Labels) For All Product Artifacts
In Spira v7.10 we introduced the ability to add free-form tags (known as labels in some other platforms) to certain product artifacts such as requirements, tasks, documents and incidents. Now in version 7.13 we have completed the rollout of product artifact tags, with the same functionality now available on the remaining artifacts (test cases, test runs, test sets and risks):
This functionality augments the existing custom properties functionality to allow users to tag artifacts with new ideas and concepts as they develop. For example, in the test case above you might want to tag it with "search", "flights", "booking" and "one way". Adding a tag is as simple as typing a comma and then adding the new tag. If the system detects a partial match it will first let know that an existing tag matches the text, you can either accept that, or tell the system to create a new tag:
Once the new tag is added, you can easily edit/remove the tag by hovering the mouse over the tag and using the option to delete the tag and then enter a new/modified one:
The tags are also visible and editable on the main list pages as well, so you can then filter, sort or search by artifact tag, as well as all the other fields:
Tags Available In Boards
Version 7.13 also extends the tags to the new agile boards in the system (requirements, incidents, tasks and planning boards). When you go to the new boards view, if you click on the button to create a new item or edit an existing item, the popup screen has the tag field now available:
Finally, the new tag fields are available in the custom reporting views, so you can create custom reports that use the new tags either in the query or the data retrieved.
