Spira v6.7.1 Released: Source Code Enhancements & Pull Requests

We are pleased to announce the release of the latest version of our award winning test management SpiraTest system, application lifecycle management SpiraTeam platform, and enterprise agile planning platform - SpiraPlan. The new version (6.7.1) provides some major enhancements to the source code management functionality, including a revamped CI build page, support for GitHub-style pull requests, difference viewing enhancements, and more code highlighting formats. This release also includes a new mechanism for generating Documents to be reviewed from the reporting system, as well as a number of general bug fixes and enhancements.

CI Build and Source Code Diff Enhancements

We are excited about the next release of Spira 6.7.1, due to be released in early February. This new version includes some usability enhancements for viewing the differences between changes in large source code files as well as a major overhaul of the continuous integration (CI) build details page. These enhancements streamline the viewing of CI builds and verifying the code changes included in each CI build.

Source Code Pull Requests & Code Reviewing

We are excited about the next release of Spira 6.7.1, due to be released in early February. This new version includes new source code Pull Requests functionality that lets development teams leverage the existing tasks feature in Spira to more easily track the different code branches. The Pull Request tasks are used to help teams review the code before they are merged into the main development branches (develop, master or main depending on your branching and merging methodology).

Generating Documents from Reports

We are excited about the next release of Spira 6.7.1, due to be released in early February 2021. One of the key new features is the ability to automatically save generated reports from the Reports center into the Documents Management module, where they can be archived and versioned.

Other Enhancements - ADO Data Sync

In addition to the enhancements to the core system, we have also released some updates to the Microsoft Azure DevOps (ADO) Data Synchronization plug that synchronizes requirements, tasks and defects between ADO and Spira:

  • The plugin can now synchronize different Task Types
  • The plugin can now synchronize different Requirement Types
  • The plugin will correctly link ADO requirements and tasks together in Spira
