IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) is a software test automation tool used by quality assurance teams to perform automated regression testing. Testers create scripts by using a test recorder which captures a user's actions against their application under test. The recording mechanism creates a test script from the actions. The test script is produced as either a Java or Visual Basic.net application.
Using RFT in conjunction with SpiraTest and RemoteLaunch allows you to create test sets of RFT tests written in either Java or .NET and be able to schedule them for execution across a global test lab.
Once executed, all the test results are collated by RemoteLaunch and sent back to SpiraTest, which acts as a central repository for your automated acceptance testing activities.
SpiraTest® is a powerful Quality Assurance and Project Management solution that manages a software project’s requirements, scope, use-cases, tests, releases and bugs and issues in one environment, with complete requirements traceability throughout. Customers can track every bug or issue back to the test case and test step that being executed, and from there back to the underlying requirement needing fulfillment.
