How can I assign some of the test cases in a test set to another user?

We select groups of test cases and arrange them into test sets and assign the test set to a user . Some times we need to split the test cases in a test set between the users .Does SpiraTest allow the Test Sets to be shared?

Hi Patrick

Yes absolutely, you can just go to the Test Set details page and assign the 'Owner' field of the individual test cases within the test set.

Hi Jim. Having done what you suggest, going into the test set, and assigning individual test cases to testers, it seems that the assigned test cases doesn't appear on the dashboard page/my page.
Normally  when I assign test sets, it appears there for all the testers, and they just run the tests shown when they log in, but I can't find a way to do that when I split the test cases.

Any suggestions?

Hi Ronnie,

Yes, that's true, the test cases don't appear on the My Page under My Assigned Test Cases when they are assigned that way from within a test set. You need to make sure the test set is assigned to someone. It will appear on that person's "My Assigned Test Sets" widget. Then once they start executing the test set, it will appear in each tester's "My Pending Test Runs" widget. You want them all to be running the same exact test set, so that the results are tied in with it correctly.

Let us know if you have additional questions.

Regards,
Elise
