Hii,

I'm experiencing some issues with RemoteLaunch. Can you help me troubleshoot? Every time I try to launch an application remotely, I get an error message. It says "Unable to connect to remote server." I'm using Windows 10 and I'm trying to launch a program on a remote Linux server.

Hey there,

It sounds like you're dealing with a connection issue between your Windows 10 machine and the remote Linux server. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot:

  1. Check Network Connection: Ensure that both your Windows machine and the remote Linux server are on the same network or that there is no firewall blocking the connection. You can try pinging the Linux server from your Windows machine to confirm they can communicate.

  2. Verify Remote Server Settings: Make sure that the remote server has the necessary services running to accept connections. For instance, check if SSH is enabled and properly configured on your Linux server. You might also need to check the server's firewall settings to ensure it’s allowing connections on the required port (typically port 22 for Geometry Dash SSH).

  3. Check RemoteLaunch Configuration: In RemoteLaunch, make sure that you’ve correctly entered the server’s IP address, username, and any necessary credentials. Also, ensure that the port number is correctly specified.

  4. Test with SSH Client: Try connecting to the Linux server using an SSH client (like PuTTY or Windows PowerShell) to make sure that your login credentials and the server are working as expected. If this fails, the issue is likely with the server setup or network rather than RemoteLaunch itself.

  5. Permissions Check: Ensure that your user account on the Linux server has permission to run the application remotely. Sometimes, the application might require specific permissions to be launched by a remote user.

  6. Logs and Error Messages: Take a look at any logs or more detailed error messages that might be available in RemoteLaunch or the Linux server logs. These could provide more insight into what’s causing the connection failure.

Hopefully, one of these steps will help you narrow down the issue. Let me know how it goes!
