Rapise and Microsoft Defender Antivirus

Symptoms

Rapise works slow,  fails to connect to Firefox or Chrome.

Reason

The reason for this is Defender Run-time protection that checks JavaScript files of Rapise Engine.

Resolution

Add an Exclusion for Rapise installation folder: c:\Program Files (x86)\Inflectra\Rapise

If in the Task Manager you see that RapiseLauncher.exe is consuming a lot of memory while running tests, then add it to exclusions as well:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Inflectra\Rapise\Bin\RapiseLauncher.exe

Same rule applies to cscript.exe:

C:\Windows\SysWOW64\cscript.exe
