How to use the SOAP API AutomationEngine_Create

I am pretty new for the SpiraTest. We use Robot Framewor as our autoamtion test tool. There is no directly addon for robot framework. So we will use Soap API to write the test results into the SpiaTest.  In this case, do we need to create a AutomationEngine for robot framework?

if yes, how?

if no, that means we can't call  SOAP API TestRun_CreateForAutomatedTestSet dueto the Token issue, right?  or we can have a fake token?

Hi

You can use our SOAP API to do this, or you could use:
1) The command-line plugin and have that execute the framework from the command-line.
2) You could write a custom plugin for RemoteLaunch using our SDK - https://www.inflectra.com/SpiraTest/Downloads.aspx (https://www.inflectra.com/Downloads/SpiraSDK.zip)

If you use option (2) or use our SOAP API directly then you should create an automation engine in SpiraTest in the Administration > Test Automation section. Then you can use the SOAP API function that you mentioned and use this token. However RemoteLaunch and RemoteLaunchX already provide this functionality and I think it will be easier to either use the Command-Line plugin or create a custom plugin rather than writing to the SOAP API directly.
