Is there an easier way other than using drag and drop to reorder steps in a test case? I have a lot of steps and it is taking a lot of time, to drap and drop, often they do not drop in the location I want. I'm looking for an option where I can right click on the step and 'move to step 2' for example.
Occassionally during a manual execution of a large test case, I have found some steps are in the wrong order, too late to change unless I stop and start again. It is very frustrating.
You can select multiple checkboxes and then drag and drop them all at once.
Did you try that? Does that help?
Thank you, that's useful advice, it'd be great to see an option to choose a location number to move it to, as it's not always a batch of steps that are moving to a single drop postion.
Thankyou.
You’re not the only one who finds the drag-and-drop reordering a bit slow on large test cases. Unfortunately there isn’t a “move to step X” right-click option yet, but there are a couple of ways to make it easier:
Use the step renumbering tool (if available in your version) — it lets you clean up the sequence after making quick edits.
Split very long test cases into smaller, more logical sections; it reduces how often you need to reorder steps during execution.
Edit in the grid view (if your setup supports it) — it tends to be more stable than dragging inside the execution window
It’s not perfect, but these small tweaks usually save a lot of time. Hopefully they’ll add a direct “move to position” feature in a future update.
