As AI agents become better at creating tasks, analyzing requirements, and handling repetitive project work, I’m wondering how teams should actually integrate them into project management.
Should an AI agent simply be an assistant that developers use when needed, or should it become part of the project team?
For example:
Human defines the requirement → AI agent breaks it into tasks → team reviews the work → agent helps execute or update tasks → human makes the final decisions.
I think the second model could be interesting because it gives AI a more defined role in the project rather than treating it as another disconnected tool.
I've been exploring this idea with Sharkly, where AI agents can participate in project workflows alongside human teammates.
How are you currently integrating AI into your SpiraTeam project workflows?
Hello,
Your example flow - human defines requirement → AI breaks into tasks → team reviews → agent helps execute → human decides - is essentially how the most effective teams are using agents right now. The key insight is that AI is fastest and most reliable in the middle of a workflow, not at the edges where judgment and accountability live.
On SpiraTeam specifically, the natural integration points are:
