Hi,

need assistance on our problems below:

1. we want to import our test cases using excel add-in(Office 2010 and/or office 2016+), is it possible to automatically link the said test cases to be upload to an existing requirements in spira? how?

2. we want to include JIRA ID as well when we import our test cases to spiratest, how can we add this in the excel template? do we create custom field? also how can we show this JIRA ID field in Test Case Overview screen.

3. is there a way for us to import data from excel using SpiraTest Excel Import/Export Tool (Office 2016+ and Office 365) without the need to "prepare sheet" which clears the content of the excel file, we have an existing excel will loads of data that we want to import in spiratest without the need to open another excel file and login to spira import/export tool and copy paste the desired data to be imported.

  1. Yes  you can do that with either version. The Test Case import lets you specify the ID of existing Spira requirements to link them to. For the Excel365 version you need to choose the Advanced option for this to be available.
  2. Yes you can create a custom text field in Spira that will then be available in the import spreadsheet
  3. The older Excel2010+ will let you use an existing sheet, the newer Excel365 one will prepare the sheet to include various helper dropdowns, etc.
