would it be possible to attach extent report to the test case after testng execution?

We don't directly use extent reports. Instead we have our own Spira listener for TestNG that sends back the test results to Spira - https://spiradoc.inflectra.com/Unit-Testing-Integration/Integrating-with-TestNG/
We have open-sourced the plugin if you'd like to change how it works:
