Project Backup and Migration Tool as command line version

Hi,

is it possible to use the Project Backup and Migration tool with command line options instead of the UI? We plan to automate the backup of each single Spira project instead of the whole SQLServer database, because each project is for a different customer.

Thanks for an answer.

Hello -
At this time the application has no CLI - there isn't a way to run it from the command line. (Well, you CAN, but it would just launch the UI, wouldn't automate anything.) This may be a feature in the future, but at this time I cannot say.

Thanks-
Mike

Hi KaiGerhold,

Yes, it is possible to automate the backups, though the Project Backup and Migration tool primarily targets the UI. For command-line automation, you might need to script the database exports or use Spira’s API in combination with your own scripts. This approach allows you to backup each project individually, which is ideal for separate customer projects.
