Hello, I want to run the database from a central server and access it from different users on different PCs. Is it really necessary to install SQLExpress on every pc running a client of SpiraTest? When I run the installation with the "just application" option, I always get an error message that the necessary SQL files are not found. At first I was confused because I hadn't even had the possibility to tell the installation the name of the host for the database, but then I suspected that the installation requires an installation of MSSQLExpress even if I don't want to run the database on the machine. Is this true? If so, is there a workaround since we do not want to have a full installation of an SQL server on every client computer. best regards Sebastian

<a10:contributor><a10:email>support@inflectra.com</a10:email></a10:contributor><a10:id>http://www.inflectra.com/kronodesk/forums/threads</a10:id>

SQLExpress needed when I just want to install the client on pc

Hi Sebastian

I think there has been some confusion. SpiraTest is a web based application, so you just install it on one PC (the server) and the other users just use their standard web browsers, there are no local components to install on the other machines. The 'Application Only' install is for installing additional web servers in a web farm, it is not meant for client machines. Regards Jim.

<a10:updated>2016-07-21T15:26:03-04:00</a10:updated>
