I have a case here where we will need to migrate a project from SpiraTeam to SpiraTest. In the current project, we have at least created test cases, test sets, test runs, custom properties, we use release/iterarion lists and the reporting functionality. Will there be a problem to migrate this to SpriaTest?

<a10:contributor><a10:email>support@inflectra.com</a10:email></a10:contributor><a10:id>http://www.inflectra.com/kronodesk/forums/threads</a10:id>

Migrate a SpriaTeam project to SpiraTest

Hi Tonje If they are just on the same server, no migration is necessary, just change the license key from SpiraTeam to SpiraTest and all your data will be preserved. If you are moving a project from one server running SpiraTeam to a different server running SpiraTest, then you will need to use the Spira Project Backup & Migration Tool (see https://www.inflectra.com/SpiraTest/Downloads.aspx ). This will bring across the test cases, test sets, test runs, custom properties and release/iterations. Hi Adam.

Thank you for your reply. :) We have read the documentation for the migration tool. It seems that it is only possible to migrate SpiraTeam to another SpiraTeam installation and also only to the same version? The migration we need to do will be from SpiraTeam 4.1 to a SpiraTeam 4.x (newest version as this is not purchased yet) on different servers (different organizations). 1) Please confirm again that migration is possible from SpiraTeam to SpiraTest. 2) Please confirm that the versions will not cause any problems. If it needs to be two compatible versions of SpiraTeam and SpiraTest, will it be possible to migrate the information by first installing a compatible version of SpiraTest at the destination location, then migrating the information from the original SpiraTeam installation and then update the SpiraTest installation to the newest version? Best regards, Tonje

<a10:updated>2014-11-26T16:17:13-05:00</a10:updated>
