Imported Test Sets using the office addin and the Excel template and then assigned test cases to the Test Sets. Was reading the integration like in the Integration documentation and noticed it had an extra frame at the bottom of the Test Set screen with the Test Cases in it that wasnt showing for me. This gave me the clue I needed. With the imported Test Sets they didnt show the Test Cases at the bottom. So I manually created a Test Set and allocated a Test Case to it and suddenly I had a Test Case linked to the Test Set showing in the bottom of the Test Set. Wasted a lot of time on this one. Would be good if the import tool was better documented with a worked Excel template example rather than the small set of items in the current template. Anyone know how to get the Test Cases to link correctly to the imported Test Sets?

<a10:contributor><a10:email>support@inflectra.com</a10:email></a10:contributor><a10:id>http://www.inflectra.com/kronodesk/forums/threads</a10:id>

Imported Test Sets dont show linked Test Cases

Hi Sarah, Using the latest Excel 2010 Add-In. I imported the Test Sets first. Then on the Test Cases I had filled in the Test Set ID with the ID value that had been assigned on the Test Set import. I then imported the Test Cases and they were not linked. The Test Sets that were imported do not show the Test Cases frame at all. Then attempted to manually link these and it said it had linked them just fine, however when I looked the imported Test Sets still do not show the Test Cases frame at all. I then created a new Test Set and it immediately showed the Test Cases frame. I then manually linked the Test Cases and they appeared within the Test Set's test cases frame. Hi Grant,

The procedure you followed should have worked. That is, the test cases should have been linked to the test sets upon importing. To help us get to the bottom of this, could you please log a Help Desk ticket? Please include the SpiraTest version number, the spreadsheet itself, and a screenshot of a test set detail page. Also, can you please explain what you mean by the "Test Case frame". Thanks! I too am having a problem with getting cases linked to test sets via the template. Test Sets created via export from spreadsheet. (worked) Test Case(s) exists. Imported case from SpiraTest to spreadsheet. (worked) Added Test sets ID to Test Case in spreadsheet and exported back to SpiraTest. No linkage is created. (failed). Any help would be greatly appreciated. john

<a10:updated>2017-12-14T18:04:56-05:00</a10:updated>

Hi John, No, that customer never logged a ticket so I have no idea what was tripping them up. Could you log a help desk ticket with details about what version of SpiraTest you have, what version of the Add-In, attach screenshots, attach a copy of your spreadsheet, etc. Well be happy to help you get it straightened out. But MSOffice2010AddinsSetup-26939.msi in Excel 2016 SpiraImportTemplate2010-23305.xls going into | SpiraTest v 4.2.0 . 10 together allow me to associate one or more test cases to a given test set or sets. Trying to connect test cases to a folder does not work; but, then again, its not supposed to is it? :-) thank you for your attention to this matter.

<a10:updated>2017-12-18T20:10:37-05:00</a10:updated>
