The standard model is to have the Continuous Integration tool (e.g. Hudson) act as the driver of the automation tool.. and SpiraTeam consume the test results. That work flow.. works. Is there a way we can get our test results from the automation tool into SpiraTeam without using SpiraTeam & RL as the driver (of the automation tool)? When running tests manually from Spira you can create an Incident when a test fails and get a trace back to test case from the incident. I.e when Incident is correcte you will know which test case you should re-run. Now when we run the test cases automatically in a test set by using RemoteLaunch we will get some failed Test Runs. After analyze we will create an Incident report but we can not find a way to connect the incident to the Test Run.

Hi, I've been using TestComplete and SpiraTeam RemoteLauch together for a while now and things had previosly been working fine. Now however after updating to TestComplete 9.2 and using the extenstion provided by Inflectra for the new version I am getting a message that appears after trying to kick off a test through RemoteLaunch. After saving the parameters for the run in SpiraTeam, shortly after I check and it appears in the Status tab of RemoteLauch displaying the test to be kicked off by the tool. When it comes times for the test to start a small green play sign appears next to the date (still in Status tab) showing that it has began to run. This green play sign lasts only for a short time and then turns to a red "X". Nothing gets ran and the test set dissapears from the queue. I check back with SpiraTeam to see whatever issue was returned and the message I get under Test Run Details is that the Execution Status was Blocked with attached message reading: " Extension 'TestComplete9.2' was not loaded or was in error condition. Could not run TC:2618 in TX:356." I have not made any changes whatsoever to this file, simply copied and pasted it from the Inflectra download to my extensions folder for Spira RemoteLauch. Please assist, I have no idea where this is coming from. My organization uses SpiraTest. RemoteLaunch is being used to integrate SpiraTest with the automation tool "Testing Anywhere" through Command line engine plugin.

    I added all the details about automation hosts on SpiraTest. Also gave the same token everywhere(On RemoteLaunch and SpiraTest). When I schedule a test set having a test case to execute automation script at a particular time, the RemoteLaunch is able to correctly detect the test cases that are to be run at that particular time. But, at the time of execution, the execution fails and the status "Blocked" is assigned to the test run. I give the full path of the .bat file (present on the automation host) in the "Filename" field under Automation tab of the test case (Linked file). The .bat file contains the command to run the automation script. Why am I not able to trigger execution of the automation script on the automation host?(Even after RemoteLaunch being able to detect that there are test cases to be executed on the host at a particular time). What should be the content of the "Filename" field exactly?

<a10:updated>2024-08-16T17:58:47-04:00</a10:updated>

RemoteLaunchX?

If I log off then RemoteLaunch is terminated. I tried to configure a task to start RemoteLaunch on system start (I see it in the task list), but automated tests are not started. How can we configure RemoteLaunch to start and execute tests without being logged in? Best regards Stephan

Hi

I set up an automated test run with TestComplete and logged a screenshot with the following code.. Log.Picture(Sys.Desktop, "Log Picture"); but what returns in SpiraTeam is just a Caution for the Test Step and " !Warning!: Log Picture" for the Console Output. Note that Test Case actually passes, so I'm guessing something went wrong went it's reading the TestComplete Log at the test step level. It's pretty much reporting wrong execution status for all logs (Log.Warning, Log.Checkpoint, Log.Error and so on...) at the Test Step level. Is this a problem caused by RemoteLaunch or SpiraTeam? Is there a way to configure the settings so that it reports a correct status? Also, is this the reason why there's no screetshots uploaded to SpiraTeam under Attachment? From what I understand from the documentation screenshots should've been captured automatically. TestComplete Version: 10.0.531.7 RemoteLaunch Version: 4.0

<a10:updated>2014-05-20T19:36:20-04:00</a10:updated>

Speeding up test set execution

Hello, Is there an article or anything that would help optimize the automated execution of a test set? We are currently connecting to testexecute and once a test case completes, there is a 1-2 minute delay before the next one starts. We have the exit after each test case disabled and the wait time set to 5000ms. Are there any other settings to look at to help speed the execution of a test set up? Thanks

Hello Everyone,

    We are planning to move to Spira Test from QC in our organisation. But we have a lot of test cases that we have created using BPT framework in QC. I know that we can execute the QTP cases from Spira Test but is is possible to execute the BPT test cases. We need to know the replication steps to that if it is at all possible. Hi,

    I'm using SpiraSDK, namely the part of AutomationEngine to make my own plugin for RemoteLaunch. So far I was quite successful.     Although I'd like to return some attachments of testrun to Spira. However there was no example in SDK (except the one for screenshots) I tried to use .AttachedDocuments class hoping that SPIRA server will poll the data out once the test run finishes, similar as it is for .TestRunSteps.     The point is, one can not known which of AutomatedTest4 members are supposed to be used as In or Out for the purpose of StartExecutin() method. Is it possible to use  .AttachedDocuments to transfer files from Remote launch plugin back to Spira? This makes me sence.         See the example code I use:             var attachment = new AttachedDocument();    byte[] data = null;    attachment.BinaryData = data;    attachment.FilenameOrUrl = filePath;    attachment.ProjectAttachmentFolderId = 147;    attachment.ProjectAttachmentTypeId = 21;    attachment.CurrentVersion = "1.0";    attachment.EditedDate = DateTime.Now;    attachment.UploadDate= DateTime.Now;    attachment.TestCaseId = automatedTestRun.TestCaseId;    attachment.Type = AttachedDocument.AttachmentType.File;    automatedTestRun.AttachedDocuments.Add(attachment);

<a10:updated>2016-11-13T13:55:30-05:00</a10:updated>

Remote Launch SDK - is it possible to return test run Attachments inside AutomatedTestRun4 class

This means that you can use the underlying WebDriver technology using the Selenium-RC API. This is primarily provided for backwards compatiblity. It allows those who have existing test suites using the Selenium-RC API to use WebDriver under the covers. Its provided to help ease of the migration path to Selenium-Web driver. Sample Backed web driver script looks like this:  package webone;

import org.junit.After;
import org.junit.Before;
import org.junit.Test;
import org.openqa.selenium.By;
import org.openqa.selenium.WebDriver;
import org.openqa.selenium.WebDriverBackedSelenium;
import org.openqa.selenium.firefox.FirefoxDriver;
import com.thoughtworks.selenium.SeleneseTestCase;

import com.thoughtworks.selenium.Selenium;
@SuppressWarnings(deprecation)
public class BackedSelenium extends SeleneseTestCase {
//web driver ??here we are declaring the browser
WebDriver driver = new FirefoxDriver();
@Before
public void setUp() throws Exception {
String baseUrl = https://www.google.co.in/
selenium = new WebDriverBackedSelenium(driver, baseUrl);
}

@TEST
public void testBackedSelenium() throws Exception {
//This is using selenium
selenium.open(/
selenium.click(id=gbi5
selenium.click(id=gmlas
selenium.waitForPageToLoad(30000
selenium.type(name=as_q, test
//Here we are using Webdriver
driver.findElement(By.id(as_oq1)).sendKeys(naga

driver.findElement(By.id(as_oq2)).sendKeys(Webdriver
Thread.sleep(5000);
}

@After
public void tearDown() throws Exception {
selenium.stop();
}
}  By using the above format, you can use both the Selenium API and Web driver API   Run WebDriver Scripts in Chrome   We run the Selenium Webdriver programs in Google Chrome web browser to perform automation testing. Below theory explains you how to run your webdriver script in google chrome..  Firefox Browser:  driver=new FirefoxDriver();---it will work and will launch your firefox browser,  Google Chrome:  driver= new Chromedriver() --- it will throw an error.  Error:  FAILED CONFIGURATION: @BeforeClass beforeClass java.lang.IllegalStateException: The path to the driver executable must be set by the webdriver.chrome.driver system property; for more information. To overcome this, we need to download the chrome driver.exe and we have to specify the path of a chrome driver in the script Download path: https://code.google.com/p/chromedriver/downloads/list take the latest exe file.      Checkout Selenium Interview Questions   Save the chrome driver in a folder and you need to specify the path of a driver in your web driver script. Below is the Sample code:  package testng;
import org.openqa.selenium.WebDriver;
import org.openqa.selenium.chrome.ChromeDriver;
import org.testng.annotations.AfterClass;
import org.testng.annotations.BeforeClass;
import org.testng.annotations.Test;

public class ChromedriverTest {
111
public WebDriver driver;

@BeforeClass
public void beforeClass() {
// Create chrome driver instance...
System.setProperty(webdriver.chrome.driver, C:xxxJarchromedriver.exe

driver=new ChromeDriver();
}

@TEST
public void testChromedriverTest() throws Exception {
driver.navigate().to(https://bing.com
Thread.sleep(5000);
}

@AfterClass
public void afterClass() {
driver.quit();

}
} Use the above code for your script which will run in Google chrome.

<a10:updated>2026-01-27T09:27:16-05:00</a10:updated>

Sending back ReadyAPI Script Log to SpiraTest

Is there a way to send the ReadyAPI script log data back to SpiraTest when a test is executed with RemoteLaunch? When the testcases are executed via ReadyAPI deskop client, the data source successfully returns the expected records from our db. Heres our ReadyAPI/RemoteLaunch configuration: 1. The testcase ID from SpiraTest (TCID) is sent to our ReadyAPI project via Remote Launch (Spira) and stored as a project level property. (confirmed) 2. The TCID is then used as a query parameter in a JDBC data source step to fetch testcase specific data that will be populated into our parameterized REST request. From the ReadyAPI log files, I can confirm the testcase is being executed, but the data source step doesnt appear to be retrieving any rows from our postgres tables.
