Both JIRA (version:4.1) and Spira Test could be issue tracking system, but while I change an issue status from opened to assigned in SpiraTeam, it could not be synchronized to JIRA. That means I can't get the latest status in JIRA, but there is no problem by opposite direction 2. I have created an incident in SpiraTeam, but it can't be synchronized to JIRA although the synchronization result is "success", but the issues created in JIRA and be imported into SpiraTeam, is there anything wrong?

<a10:updated>2011-09-15T17:09:14-04:00</a10:updated>

Unable to get list of plugins to execute

Running an evaluation of spiratest at the moment, and trying to get jira sync running. I can create Incidients in SpiraTest and after the synchronisation these incidients can be seen in Jira as bugs. If I set the status of this bugs to "resolved" in JIRA the synchronisation of these bugs fails, the status in SpiraTest is not changed. In the event log of Windows I see the following error messages: APPLICATION.Web.Services.v2_2.ImportExport::Incident_RetrieveById: Unable to locate requested incident APPLICATION.Business.Incident::RetrieveById: Incident 65 doesn't exist in the system. My Incidients have a ID of 67, 68 and 69 so an Incidient with 65 can surely not be found. If have deleted some Incidients in SpiraTest. Can these lead to this confusion and is there a way to get ahead? However, task flow is becoming tricky. Typically, we will open an issue in Jira, pass it from creative to development to QA on its way to completion. The QA team cranks up SpiraTest and runs test cases. Instead of adding sub-tasks to the original issue, SpiraTest creates new issues. These new issues are unrelated to the original issue containing all of the files, notes, etc. associated with the work being tested. I end up with bug tickets that are separate and distinct from the ticket that originally called for the work. With 20 items in QA simultaneously, this is creating a mess. Is there any way to tell SpiraTest to create sub-tasks for the issue being tested? How about using JIRA's link to feature to keep the bugs tied to the original ticket? Is anyone else experiencing this? Thanks!

<a10:updated>2013-04-25T04:10:08-04:00</a10:updated>

Unable to connect to SpiraTeam Project

I am running a trial version of SpiraTeam 3.1 and using the Data Sync Service with the Jira plugin. Hi, is it possible to link multiple JIRA projects to 1 Spirateam project? our tests are in 1 spirateam project, but in JIRA there is a project per "component" of our system. So we have many JIRA projects where we can create issues. Is this supported in spirateam? thx

According to the Manual. It is recommended that once the Incident is logged and synced with JIRA, that the incident not be modified in Spiratest.

If thats the case , how do you propose that the tester close the incident once its retested. According to the process i had in mind. once the defect is logged in Spira test and synced with JIRa. The developers would deal with till the point they assign it back to the tester. At which point the tester will retest and close the defect in Spira test. Do you forsee any issues with this workflow? Also to integrate JIRa and Spiratest. Do we need to purchase access for all users in both to have the user mapping ? The model i had in mind was to purchase Spira test for only the QA team and they would log defect that will be synced with JIRA. So we purchase JIRA for the number of developers and not the testers. Would this be possible or we would need to purchase the total amount of user licenses for both achieve user mapping? I thought that we could just list the usernames in Spira for the developers and then the testers could assign it to the appropriate developer.

<a10:updated>2012-09-17T17:07:40-04:00</a10:updated>

Jira Synchronisation Issue

I have recently installed SpiraTest and have been working though the integration with our locally hosted Jira 4.x system.

I have created two projects, one of which syncs fine, the other doesn't sync at all. A) QA Test - this was created as a sandpit to work through configuration issues and to learn the interface. This was successfully configured to work with our Jira testing instance, and then updated to point to our production Jira instance. Due to a forced re-sync it imported all 4000+ issues from the production system, which is fine. It has also successfully created issues in Jira for Incidents raised in SpiraTest B) QA Production - this is created to be our production project for SpiraTest. The data sync details for this project are the same as "QA Test" - and the Data Synchronisation service reports that it successfully runs. However, no data from Jira is shown in this project. I have set QA Test to be inactive, in case it was only updating the first project, but nothing appears. I have clicked Force Re-Synch, nothing happens despite status updating to Success Any ideas as to what may be the issue?

<a10:updated>2018-08-02T15:45:27-04:00</a10:updated>

Jenkins Plugin Throwing errors all over the place.

This seems to be the closest forum related to CI plugins.

Hey, Our company uses JIRA 5.0 and we follow 2-3 week sprints . We manage all this through agile rapid boards in JIRA (Scrum). We do not have any test management tool and are looking at different tools that would work with JIRA. I really liked Spira Test in that its very organized and with this toold our tets management would be under control. Is there a way to map the rapid boards (agile boards) in JIRA as different projects in Spira Test. We have one big project in JIRA. But if we map to that project, we would not get any granular details (team wise details ) . Furthermore, if every sprint in JIRA on the rapid board (not a project -- so no external key) can be mapped as different projects, it would be great! Do you support this mapping? Thanks, Payal Khimani

<a10:updated>2012-11-14T16:06:29-05:00</a10:updated>

Is there a way to map the rapid boards (agile boards) in JIRA as different projects in Spira Test

We've got JIRA 6.0.5 set up with tickets being unassigned by default. Once someone starts work on an issue, they assign the ticket to themselves. However, tickets synced from SpiraTest always get assigned to someone on creation. As far as I've been able to test, if you don't assign an owner in SpiraTest (equivalent to keeping it unassigned), the sync service just assigns it to the reporter both in JIRA and SpiraTest as soon as the incident/ticket gets synced/created in JIRA. The Owner in SpiraTest is not required, just as the Assignee in JIRA isn't either.

Hi, Our spiratest is currently syncing with JIRA (cloud). One of the jira plugins we are using is Greenhopper which alows you to work 'Agile' (User stories, sprints, ...). We 've currently managed to import/sync the user stories from JIRA to Spiratest as requirements which is good :-) Unfortunately we have noticed that one specific user story field is not synced to spiratest -> 'Sprint' field value. This is quite bizar as Sprint field is basically a custom jira field which is mapped to a custom spiratest field. However after further investigation (I'm not a webservice export!), we 've noticed that when we get the details of an issue through the jira rest api , the response for the sprint field looks a bit different (ToString) from any other data fields (respond looks more like the JSON way) EXAMPLE: customfield_10007 :[ "com.atlassian.greenhopper.service.sprint.Sprint@a29f07[rapidViewId= ,state=CLOSED,name=NORD - Sprint 42,startDate=2013-07-29T06:47:00.000+02:00,endDate=2013-08-11T20:47:00.000+02:00,completeDate=2013-08-14T15:31:33.157+02:00,id=107]" , ,state=ACTIVE,name=NORD - Sprint 43,startDate=2013-08-14T15:32:47.322+02:00,endDate=2013-08-23T15:32:47.322+02:00,completeDate= ,id=117]">com.atlassian.greenhopper.service.sprint.Sprint@769133[rapidViewId= ,state=ACTIVE,name=NORD - Sprint 43,startDate=2013-08-14T15:32:47.322+02:00,endDate=2013-08-23T15:32:47.322+02:00,completeDate= ,id=117] ], Has anyone already faced this problem? Now the jira-usernames are changed. I can enter them via the web-UI (edit user/data mapping), but this is not a feasible way due to the amount of users to change (>1000). I thought I could use the REST api to do this. But if I do a POST to data-mappings/{data_sync_system_id}/users with the updated values (only the ExternalKey is changed) nothing is changed though I get an http 200 status (checked with the web UI and via a GET to data-mappings/{data_sync_system_id}/users). The documentation also says that the POST is used to Add new user data mapping entries. I want to update them. So what is the preferred way to achieve this? Hello

I am using SpiraTeam 4.2.0.1 with JIRA 6.3.15. I am noticing that "Detected Release" is a mandatory field for an incident in SpiraTeam v4.2.0.1 as a result of which JIRA isnt recognising the version of the release. I can successfully bring in new bugs that I created on JIRA into Spira Team; however a new Incident/Bug from Spira Team isnt being passed over to JIRA because of the "Detected Release". I also note that the new incidents that were created in SpiraTeam as a result of synchronization from JIRA have the "Detected Release" field empty which is fine; but just wondering when this is a "Mandatory Field" in SpiraTeam how is the synchronization overriding this? I am mainly interested in the integration to work from SpiraTeam to JIRA. Also note that "Detected Release" isn't a mandatory field in SpiraTeam 4.1.0.5, so is this something that was intentionally done on 4.2 update. Please let me know if there is a way to disable this or whether this is hard coded? Any help would be much appreciated, thanks. Thanks

<a10:updated>2015-07-13T15:22:07-04:00</a10:updated>

TFS Data Synchronization Errors

I am running TFS 2012 and SpiraTeam 4. I have downloaded the correct plug-in and corrected the IIS 32-bit issue and can start the sync. However, it fails. The releases from SpiraTeam are imported into TFS, but the incidents do not come over. We are not using any custom properties and I have configured the mapping as the pdf describes. The errors I receive are:

Hi, We are currently using the hosted SpiraTest and we have an inhouse Jira installation. After a request from our testers I have looked into how to integrate Spira and Jira. I followed the instructions, downloaded and installed the Destop Datasync utility. The Desktop Datasync utility is now configured and running and seems to work pretty well. However, to make synchronization reliable I would prefer to install and run the sync utility as a Windows service. Is there any way to install and configure synchronization between hosted Spira and Jira as a Windows service? Best regards, Jarl Petter

Hi, I am trying to setup synchronization between Spirateam and MS TFS, and it seems to be working for incidents and tasks. For releases/iterations however, it is not working properly. If there have been releases/iterations defined in TFS in hierarchy, for instance Release 1.0, Sprint 1, only the Sprint 1 is imported into Spirateam. I tried the other way around also, created the releases and iterations in Spirateam, and not in TFS. This resulted in an error in the windows event log: Error Synchronizing Incidents between TFS and SpiraTeam: TF26065: The project hierarchy node is not recognized. The releases and iterations are not created in TFS. The user which is used for synchronization has admin rights in TFS. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Best regards, Yvette

I have a problem with the use of the spira plugin for jenkins. We have automated tests, running everyday in jenkins, now i need to get the results of those tests (result of the jobs in jenkins) into spiratest. But I cannot fill in a variable that specifies the latest deploy number. The plugin is apparently not able to translate jenkins variables, filling in the "Release Version Number" field with for example $VAR , gives as result in the log: Error sending results to SpiraTest server (Unable to locate a release with version number '$VAR' in project PR12) You can replicate this quite easily, setup a jenkins job, create a string parameter with default value filled in, fill in the spira config with project number and release version number , execute job and check the log. Right now the plugin is quite useless for us, we do NOT want to change the version number by hand every new release, deploy,... Another thing that would be nice is to specify a non-existant release version number. Now this gives the following error: A release with the version number '...' does not exist in the Spira project PR12 It would be nice if it just creates the release instead.

Dear all, Could someone please have a look on my trouble and please have some advice? I am facing following issues: 1. I cannot get status ID of statuses on JIRA (I can get the others via their JIRA's URL) 2. On my JiraDataSync Project Data Mapping screen, I can not see any Custom Properties link to config for section 2.2.5. Configuring the Custom Property Mapping on the guide line (PSB for the guide I'm using) 3. I dont know how to start the SpiraTeam Data Sync Service because I have no idea on Spira Team server. The Spira Team was installed by someone from my customer side and my customer advised that it is hosted on cloud. Do you have any idea to advise on this? I am using JIRA 6.5 and Spira Team: 4.2 Im basing on this guide for the configuration: https://www.inflectra.com/Documents/SpiraTestPlanTeam%20External%20Bug%20Tracking%20Integration%20Guide.pdf Thanks a lot, Phuong

Hi

We have just started using SpiraTest and we're trying to reduce any barriers to adoption by automating as much of the workflow as possible. One of our development suppliers uses their own work-tracking tool that assigns work to developers, but also holds all the requirements and defects. We have asked them to use the SpiraTest REST API to create Releases and Requirements in SpiraTest when they are baselined in their development tool, but I would also like defects to be kept in sync between the two systems as they are progressed. Does anyone know if its possible for SpiraTest to be triggered to send REST messages to external systems (not currently supported by the Add-Ons ) without having the create a custom Add-On? We have a custom defect workflow that mirrors the developers system: https://www.dropbox.com/s/ligj7bug9000a32/New%20Defect%20Lifecycle%20%28with%20Dev%20Tools%29.jpg?dl=0 In this workflow half of the time the developers system will be updating SpiraTest over REST - which we can implement now. The over half of the time we need to update their system. Has anyone managed to get something like this working? Many thanks, Dom.

<a10:updated>2015-06-14T01:01:24-04:00</a10:updated>

Synchronisation SpiraTest-Jira due to not well-formed XML

Hi,

we have installed Jira (V5.2) and SpiraTest (V 3.2); I know - both tools should be upgraded, but that's not that problem now. When detecting an e rror the User creates an incident in SpiraTest; due to the data synchronisation a jira-bug will be created. BUT: Sometimes the data synchronisation fails; if I have a log at the event log, there's a message like this: Index : 839752 EntryType : Error InstanceId : 0 Message : General Error: Response is not well-formed XML. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) at Inflectra.SpiraTest.PlugIns.Jira4DataSync.JiraSoapService.JiraSoapServiceService.getIssuesFromJqlSearch(String in0, String in1, Int32 in2) at Inflectra.SpiraTest.PlugIns.Jira4DataSync.DataSync.Execute(Nullable`1 lastSyncDate, DateTime serverDateTime) Category : (0) CategoryNumber : 0 ReplacementStrings : {General Error: Response is not well-formed XML. at System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHttpClientProtocol.Invoke(String methodName, Object[] parameters) at Inflectra.SpiraTest.PlugIns.Jira4DataSync.JiraSoapService.JiraSoapServiceService.getIssuesFromJqlSearch(String in0, String in1, Int32 in2) at Inflectra.SpiraTest.PlugIns.Jira4DataSync.DataSync.Execute(Nullable`1 lastSyncDate, DateTime serverDateTime)} Source : SpiraTest Data Sync Service TimeGenerated : 01.08.2016 14:23:52 TimeWritten : 01.08.2016 14:23:52 UserName : --> How can I detect the defect test run ?

<a10:updated>2016-08-05T17:46:02-04:00</a10:updated>

Is there a way to do a transition for an incident in SpiraTeam over REST

Constantly throwing the following error: ``` General Error: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found. at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse() at GitLabDataSync.InternalFunctions.httpGET(String url, String password) at GitLabDataSync.InternalFunctions.getMilestones(String externalProject, DataSync sync) at GitLabDataSync.DataSync.Execute(Nullable`1 lastSyncDate, DateTime serverDateTime) ``` The Gitlab user that we have configured has access to the project that were attempting to set up, and the spira user has project access to everything. Ive tried to set the `TraceLogging` value to `True` in the `DataSyncService.exe.config` to see if it would give me more detailed info, but alas no! Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. In SpiraTest, the status does not update and stays stuck on New. The only way I found to change this status is to execute the workflow in Spira, which is independent of Jira. Moreover, warnings are displayed in the Event Log, showing us issues that we shouldnt encounter. For example, Unable to locate requirement mapping entry for issue type Incident (ID=10200) in SpiraTest project PR28 so setting requirement to User Story type. whereas we deactivated the requirements. Maybe youre able to see and solve the problems we encountered ?
