Requesting a Manual-Update Instance

For customers who need to be able to validate Spira for use in their organizations, we offer the option of having their instance not auto-update when new versions of Spira are available. Instead they can log a support ticket and request to be updated at a specific date/time. We require at least two (2) business days notice that an update is requested.

Staging and Production Environments

In addition to having your production environment configured to manually update, you also have the option to have two separate environments - staging and production.

In this setup, you have your production environment (e.g. mycompany.spiraservice.net) set for manual updates (see previous section), but you have your staging environment set for automated updates (e.g. mycompany-staging.spiraservice.net). That way you can test out the new version in staging before requesting the update.

Note that in this case, you need to purchase two subscriptions from Inflectra.
